How to Make Graduation Cap Cupcakes on a Budget

When I was a kid, my mom always celebrated our milestones with these adorable graduation cap cupcakes, that can easily be made for just a few dollars.

You will need:
  • Chocolate boxed cake mix
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Red licorice whips
  • Colorful sprinkles
  • Graham crackers
  1. Bake the cupcakes according to the box instructions. 
  2. Once cooled, peel off the cupcake papers and place upside down.
  3. Frost each cupcake and graham cracker with the chocolate.
  4. Place the graham cracker onto the cupcake and add the licorice whip as a tassel.
  5. Dust with the sprinkles to represent confetti.

How to Make Graduation Cap S'mores on a Budget

Here is a fantastically fun twist on traditional s'mores; perfect for your next graduation celebration:

Ingredients:
  • One bag of large marshmallows
  • One can of vanilla frosting
  • One box of graham crackers
  • Colored sprinkles
  • Red licorice whips
  1. Ice the tops of each graham cracker with the vanilla frosting.
  2. Spread some frosting onto the top of the marshmallow and attach the graham cracker to form a graduation cap.
  3. Place a three inch piece of the red licorice whip onto the top of the cap as a tassel.
  4. Dust colored sprinkles over your graduation cap s'mores to give the appearance of confetti.
You will surely be the hit of the next party with this graduation cap dessert.  And the kids will love to help with the preparations!
